Indiana stays with Jalen Smith

Logic reigns in the Pacers. The Indianapolis franchise, shortly after closing the departure of Malcolm Brogdon to Boston, has certified the continuity in its Jalen Smith project, who, according to Shams Charania of The Athleticsigned for two seasons.

Smith, who in his second year in the NBA was transferred to Indiana from Phoenix, left a pleasant impression on the team’s coaching staff by averaging 13.4 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1 block in 24.7 minutes per night.

In a rebuilding Pacers, the 22-year-old power forward can find the perfect context to continue developing. He’s off to a good start and now it’s up to him to maintain the confidence of Rick Carlisle to remain an important part of the veteran coach’s rotation. Let’s remember that it is number 10 of the 2020 draft.
