With a bust says Hertha „Goodbye“!
The team of Coach Sandro Schwarz (43) screwed up the last test of the preparation of England – and with it the dress rehearsal for the cup game in Braunschweig in a week. Against second division West Bromwich Albion, it is 1: 2 for the Berliners.
The coach after the final whistle: “The result is annoying. For 60 minutes that was very good. We were in control. The shortcoming was that we didn’t create enough big chances.”
It is the third Test defeat in a row after the 0-1 in Derby and the 1-3 against Nottingham. In the morning, Hertha’s B selection had a double test against the reserve teams from West Brom and Watford, which the Berliners won 5-0.
The alleged A-Elf is then less successful. Led by new captain Marvin Plattenhardt, the club from the capital got off to a good start: In the 13th minute, Davie Selke scored to make it 1-0 after assists from Myziane Maolida.
Selke was preferred to Krzysztof Piatek, who had to play in the morning – the Pole is currently only second choice and should leave the club.
Although Hertha does not allow much at the back, there is not much going forward either. In the 42nd minute, the Berliners are lucky when a free kick from John Swift hits the crossbar.
Swift makes it more accurate in the 70th minute, pushing the ball over the line to equalize. And just three minutes later, Daryl Dike heads in to make it 2-1. Captain Plattenhardt annoyed: “We didn’t have that good grip anymore. They felt like they had two chances to score and made two goals. Too bad you go to England and lose three times.”
The scary moment of the game: Suat Serdar is down after a tackle (49 minutes) and has to be sent off – Lucas Tousart replaces him. Serdar had already received a blow to the pelvis in the first half. The all-clear follows after the final whistle: The eighth should be able to start training again next week.
