The whistle released all tension, Merle Frohms dropped to her knees and then the tears flowed while she laughed. She bent down and rested her head between her white goalie gloves on the Milton Keynes lawn and stayed that way for a moment. Now Germany’s number one didn’t have to stretch any further, there was no longer any danger.
