Frédéric Lacroix remains in contact in Ireland

Despite less favorable weather than the day before, Frédéric Lacroix limited the breakage at Mount Juliet Estate with a 71 (-1). At -8 (136) after two laps, the Racingman is indeed still in ambush, tied for 4th place. Only three lengths behind the Spaniard Jorge Campillo, the sole leader. Romain Langasque, still as solid, is also on the lookout at -6 (138), in the top 15.

Second (ex-aequo) after eighteen holes on Thursday, Frederic Lacroix was content with a 71 (-1) in this second round disturbed by the elements. The rain, the wind and the gray sky have indeed invited themselves above the Mount Juliet Estatenecessarily making the practice of golf a little more complicated than the day before.

A deal that did not prevent the resident from Team St Laurent to start with the pedal to the metal, achieving a sublime eagle on his first hole (starting from the 10th) thanks to a fantastic chip near a green bunker on this par 5.

Perfectly launched despite the rain, the Racingman then alternated the good and the less good (two bogeys and a birdie) before completing his first leg in 35 (-1). This will be his final score of the day since his return is balanced with two new birdies for two other bogeys.

Fourth at -8 (136) with six other “tenants” like the Englishman Aaron Rai or the Irish Seamus Power36th in the world, the Frenchman remains more than ever concerned with both winning – the Spaniard Jorge Campillo is in the lead three lengths ahead at -11 – only by one of the three spots in play for the 150th The Open in history scheduled from July 14 to 17 at St Andrews.

Halfway through, the “lucky ones” are precisely Campillo but also the Paraguayan Fabrizio Zanottisecond at -10 with the Pole Adrian Meronkalready qualified, and Aaron Rai, the best positioned in the world ranking among the fourth (130th).

But everything is still to be done since more than twenty golfers stand in six points only. Among them, Romain Langasque. The Azurean, 70 (-2) having conceded only one bogey, is thus 15th at -6 (138). He will play this Moving Day from 11:45 a.m. local (12:45 p.m. in France) with the South African Tristan Lawrencealso already qualified for the British Open thanks to his victory at the end of November at the Joburg Openreduced to… 36 holes!

Four other French cross the cut set at -2. After two consecutive failures, Julian Brown stops the bleeding. Antibois based in Prague (Czech Republic) appears in 36th place at -4 ahead Antoine Rozner (41 places lost due to a heavy 75), Julian Warrior et Matthew Pavon. The trio is 47th at -3.
