Formula 1 has confirmed that it will enter into talks with the organization behind the Austrian Grand Prix. Several fans have reported being victims of intimidating behavior at the Red Bull Ring.

During the weekend in Spielberg, several messages appeared on social media from visitors who were allegedly harassed. Harassment is written about in the form of homophobic and racist statements, abusive language and other offensive remarks. Spectators would also be touched and photographed without being asked. The complaints have been passed on to Formula 1, which has now responded with an official statement.

Statement Form 1

“We have been made aware that some fans have been subjected to totally unacceptable comments by others at the event,” it read. “We have informed the organization and security and will be talking to the people who reported these incidents. We take it very seriously. This kind of behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. All fans must be treated with respect treated.”
