TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Chairman of Pancoran Soccer Field, Gede Widiade, stated that currently there are many event waiting to be held at the Jakarta International Stadium or JIS. In fact, he said, European clubs asked to be contacted and invited to play in Indonesia, especially Jakarta.
“This is proof to the world that in Indonesia there is a representative stadium. There is also a very good club so it cannot be underestimated,” said the former Persija President Director after the inauguration of JIS, North Jakarta, Sunday night, July 24, 2022.
Usually, Gede continued, countries in Europe and Africa choose Turkey as a training center (TC) or training center. But now, Indonesia, especially Jakarta and Bali, can be used as a TC by an elite team from Europe
“As the Chairman of Pancoran Soccer Field, I am very proud to be able to collaborate with the DKI Provincial Government,” said Gede.
Pancoran Soccer Field cooperated to bring in junior clubs Barcelona and Atletico Madrid to play at JIS, but this time only brought in a club from Thailand, Chonburi FC. If it could take a little longer, Gede said, maybe it could be another club, because many from Australia, Japan and Malaysia are willing.
“We apologize for any shortcomings. Preparations that are not too long may not be optimal, but this is our contribution as footballers to the Governor of DKI Anies Baswedan, Persija, and Jakmania,” he said.
Anies Baswedan praised as a brave governor
Gede Widiade also praised Anies Baswedan as the first governor who dared to promise to build a football stadium in Indonesia. “This is the first time a governor has dared to promise to build a football stadium that may be the largest in Southeast Asia to Jakmania,” he said.
According to him, it is an inspiration for all football people. Pancoran Soccer Field, said Gede, only helps because it is a company engaged in sports, especially providing sports facilities in Jakarta and several big cities in Indonesia.
Gede admitted that he was directly involved in how the JIS plan was originally built, because previously he was the President Director of Persija Jakarta. “So his desire to make the people of Jakarta, especially Jakmania happy, needs help,” he said.
In the past, he continued, he helped to realize JIS, now he is helping to fulfill Governor Anies Baswedan’s wish to make his people and Jakmania happy. “The trick is to choose good clubs for the inauguration.”
