Former KRC Genk player jailed for cocaine trafficking

Now 40 years old, the former attacking midfielder learned all his skills in Limburg.

Now head coach since the end of his professional playing career, Davide D’Angelo recently left his post at Esperanza Pelt, which plays in the provincial divisions in Limburg, for personal reasons. The former attacking midfielder of Genk, Maastricht and Tongeren seemed to feel good, however, in a club located near his birthplace.

This is however not the whole truth. Indeed, the former player, now 40 years old, is currently in prison, suspected of dealing cocaine. “My client denies all the allegations,” lawyer Yasmine Driessen clearly stated in a response to The newspapaer.

The Dutch-language daily also knows that D’Angelo had already been discredited in 2013, after being sentenced to six months in prison and a €6,000 fine for involvement in a cannabis plant.
