Fluminense applies historic rout over Oriente Petrolero-BOL — Fluminense Football Club

In the challenge that was worth qualifying for the round of 16 of CONMEBOL Sudamericana, Fluminense fulfilled its role. In a game valid for the sixth and final round of the competition, the Team de Guerreiros sought a historic 10-1 rout over Oriente Petrolero-BOL, this Thursday (26/05), at Tahuichi Aguilera Stadium. Matheus Martins (3), Germán Cano (3), Jhon Arias, Caio Paulista, Manoel and Willian Bigode scored the tricolor goals.

Despite the great victory, Flu was in second place in Group H, with 11 points, one less than the leader, which led to their elimination. In the other match of the bracket, between Junior Barranquilla-COL and Unión Santa Fe-ARG, in Colombia, the Argentines advanced with the triumph by 4 to 0.

The team led by coach Fernando Diniz returns to the field on Sunday (29/05), when they face Flamengo, at 6 pm, at Maracanã, for the eighth round of the Brazilian Championship.

FIRST TIME

In the first minute, after a table with Jhon Arias, Matheus Martins finished the goalkeeper’s exit to open the scoring for Fluminense. In the 9th minute, served by Arias, Germán Cano only pushed towards the goal, increasing the advantage of Team de Guerreiros in the marker. At 13, the Argentine scored again, with a header, after a cross by Nonato. At 14, Álvarez decreased to Oriente Petrolero-BOL. At 17, after a launch by Luccas Claro, the ball exploded in the defense and was left at the feet of Jhon Arias, who swung the net.

In the 36th minute, Willian Bigode crossed and Matheus Martins deflected it for Caio Paulista to score the fifth tricolor goal. At 37, Cano submitted twice, but the defender performed two miracles. At 41, Bigode supported Matheus Martins to come face to face with the goalkeeper and score one more. At 45, Caio Paulista got rid of the marking, but sent over the defender.

SECOND TIME

In the first minute, in a cross by Cris Silva, Matheus Martins risked on top. At 7, Moleque de Xerém received a pass from Germán Cano and, from afar, sought the submission. In the next moment, after Martinelli’s assistance, Matheus Martins secured Fluminense’s seventh goal.

At 12 minutes, Willian Bigode passed the mark and rolled for Cano to hit the goal. At 17, from the edge of the area, Bigode kicked over the marker. At 19, launched by Martinelli, Luiz Henrique finished for the goalkeeper’s defense. In the next moment, with a header, Manoel completed the corner kick from Willian Bigode and swung the net.

In the 24th minute, served by Jhon Arias, Luiz Henrique dominated, turned and finished with danger. At 29, in a move by John Kennedy with shirt 11, the Team of Warriors reached the tenth goal with Willian Bigode.
