FC Twente has apologized about the way in which ticket sales for the exhibition game with Schalke 04 have been arranged. Many season ticket holders found it difficult to order a ticket on Tuesday at the start of sales or not to use their own trade.
“Due to a combination of a large crowd on the first day of ordering and the implementation of the new ticketing system, this did not go well,” FC Twente said on the official website. “In addition, there was too little time between the announcement of the card information and the start of ordering the tickets. As a result, not every supporter was able to buy tickets in time in his or her desired box. That should have been different.”
FC Twente will therefore start later with the free sale of the exhibition game. “In the coming days we will deal with all outstanding questions, only then will we start with the free sale. It is now planned for next Monday, but can possibly change,” said the club.
Season ticket holders could order a free ticket for the exhibition game with Schalke 04, which will be played on Friday 22 July at 8 p.m. However, they cannot always buy back their own spot. “The short side opposite Vak-P is reserved for supporters of FC Schalke 04. As a result, it is not always possible to reserve your own place and there are fewer places available in the first ring, so supporters have to choose another place in the stadium. “
In addition, many fans could not order together with acquaintances. “With the transition to a different ticketing system, already linked accounts have expired. This has to be relinked once. This information was shared during the season ticket renewal, but we should have brought more attention and with more lead time this could have been prevented” , according to FC Twente.
