FC Bayern: Joshua Kimmich – boss appearance! What announcement he made in the “Sauf Haus” | Sports

Cheers to that!

Bayern star Joshua Kimmich (27) was in Washington on Tuesday evening at a fan appointment, speaking to Bayern fans in Washington’s Paulaner bar “Sauf Haus Bier Hall”. And the fans liked what Kimmich said!

When asked about the 2020 titles during the Corona period, Kimmich made a triple announcement: “We got it, but there were no fans in the stadium at the time! We want to do it again – with you!” Of course, it created a good atmosphere among the Bayern fans in the Sauf Haus!

Kimmich spoke beforehand about the current Bayern situation.

With the departure of Robert Lewandowski (33) to Barca, everyone now has to score more goals. Kimmich: With Lewy we lose a lot of goals that we all have to catch up as a team. Sadio Mané is a great player, but I don’t think he’s the player who ends up scoring 40 or 50 goals. He brings other qualities with him, so that one or the other might score more goals. We have some attacking players who can be dangerous.”

He also wants to score more often himself: “It is also one of my goals to score more goals. There were three last season, which can definitely be improved.”

Kimmich is also hoping for goals from the new defense chief: “Matthijs De Ligt has the skills to lead, organize and direct. Hopefully he’ll score us a goal or two, which is important after Lewy’s departure.”

And further: “The 50 goals have to come from somewhere. It’s good for us when we have someone in the back who’s good at tackling and who can organize. And also scores goals. We have great quality in the central defender position, it’s a bit of a barrier because of the language. I don’t know how well Matthijs speaks German, maybe that will make it a bit easier. Communication, especially from the back, is very, very important.”

Kimmich also thinks the other newcomers are great. With Ryan Gravenberch (19) he could form the midfield duo after Goretzka’s injury. Kimmich praises: “Great! He’s really good at training. Super boy, very sure of the ball, technically top, physically good. He’s 19 years old, which is impressive that he’s already at such a high level. He can help us a lot.”

As, of course, Mané! Kimmich: “Sadio is hungry, wants to win titles, wants to score goals and move forward. We hope that from him. A laid back guy, he fits in well.”

But: is the treble really possible without a real centre-forward like Lewandowski?

Kimmich: “Without Lewy, it’s even more important to work better at the back. And as long as we win the games, it doesn’t matter if we have a number 9…”
