Cologne (dpa / lnw) – A 50-year-old went down in a Cologne bathing lake and died. It is still unclear whether this was due to a heart attack or other causes, said a police spokeswoman on Monday. On Sunday afternoon, bathers on the shore and visitors to a nearby music festival saw the man go down in Lake Fühlinger. Rescuers rushed in. Two drones were used, one over water and one under water.

Divers only found the man two hours later at a depth of about nine meters. An ambulance drove the 50-year-old to the hospital, and resuscitation measures were carried out. But the effort was in vain. Several media had previously reported about it.
