Eintracht Frankfurt: This is how Mario Götze’s Eintracht debut went – Bundesliga

Almost 6,000 fans in Pasching had to wait 45 minutes, then the time had come: Mario Götze (30) finally made his Eintracht debut.

In the test match against Linzer ASK, the newcomer from Eindhoven (3v million transfer fee) came on at the break and was welcomed by the LASK stadium announcer as “world champion”.

And Götze showed why Eintracht wanted him so badly. With calmness on the ball and a lot of overview, he used his teammates, outstanding was his cream pass to Alidou (61st). Still, it wasn’t enough to win – in the end it was 0-0.

Coach Oliver Glasner: “Mario got through really well two or three times, he did it very well. I’m very satisfied with the first few minutes.” After half an hour it was over for Götze, Hrustic came on for him.

Otherwise the game against Ösis, for whom the season starts in two weeks, was a bit tough. Superstar Kostic, who failed with a hammer on the post (37th), had the best chance.

Conclusion Glasner: “In the first half I really liked our defensive behavior, but in attack we were too imprecise in the last third. And after the break with the many new players, it was clear that the vote was still right. The boys still have to get to know each other.” They can now do that in a week at the training camp in Windischgarsten.
