Eintracht Braunschweig – Hamburger SV: HSV victory thanks to Robert Glatzel | Sports

Great start for HSV, a 2-0 win at newly promoted Eintracht Braunschweig. But the Hamburgers were also lucky because Eintracht was unable to take advantage of some good chances, especially in the 1st half.

Before the kick-off, some of the 2,300 HSV fans who had traveled with them fogged up the stadium on Hamburger Strasse. Alternating blue and white smoke rockets were fired onto the playing field. The players of both teams had to clear the place of the smoked shells.

HSV victory with luck and Glatzel

The climber provided the first big chance firecrackers. Returnee Fabio Kaufmann (came from Karlsruher SC) hit the right side netting from 12 meters (3rd). The shots from Jan Hendrik Marx (11th) and Lion Lauberbach (14th) whizzed just wide of the goal of the defensively sleepy-looking promotion favorites.

In the 20th minute, HSV keeper Daniel Heuer Fernandes saved the deficit against Lauberbach with a flash reflex. In the 45th minute, Philipp Strompf headed wide of the goal from six meters and completely free. The HSV with the 0-0 at the break in front of 21,900 spectators served more than just well.

Clear chances Braunschweig, but the flattering goal made the HSV. In the 67th minute, Robert Glatzel scored to make it 0-1. In the 76th minute, the Hamburg striker also headed to make it 0:2. A lob from Braunschweig’s Immanuel Pherai (came from BVB) only landed on the crossbar (85th).

Bad news for newly promoted Eintracht Braunschweig. A rapid corona test was positive for captain and regular goalkeeper Jasmin Fejzic on Saturday evening. Instead of Fejzic, purchasing Ron-Thorben Hoffmann (came from FC Bayern) was in the Eintracht box.
