Diego Ruiz from Salamanca wins the 100 and 400 meter dash at the European Youth Paralympic Games

The Finnish city of Pajulahti has hosted the European Youth Paralympic Games from July 1 to July 3.

An event in which many take their first steps on their journey towards a professional sports career and make their debut in international competition.

More than 500 athletes from around thirty countries come together in an event in which there are eight sports disciplines: wheelchair basketball, swimming, boccia, goalball, judo, showdown, table tennis and athletics.

In the latter, Diego Ruiz, from Salamanca, a federated athlete who competes with the VelSalamanca Athletics Club, has managed to win the 100ml (11.81) and 400ml (56.94) in his division and consolidates Diego as one of the emerging sports promises in the athletics specialty.
