The playing time at KRC Genk is over. On Monday afternoon, the group of players will leave by bus to Alkmaar in the Netherlands for the annual summer internship. Cyriel Dessers and Junya Ito are, as expected, in the party.

Satisfaction with Genk coach Wouter Vrancken. Finally he has a complete A-squad available. Cyriel Dessers and Junya Ito are back from vacation and will remain on board until further notice. They both took part in Monday morning training and they get on the bus to Holland. Not the usual players bus, it is too small for the almost 50-strong delegation (players, technical and medical staff). A larger copy is therefore requested.

A first training session is scheduled in Alkmaar on Monday evening at 5.30 p.m. The first of a whole series. There are also two practice matches on the menu: Wednesday against Utrecht (not open to the public) and Saturday against Volendam (open). Then the Genkies return home.

De Boeck instead of Chambaere

In extremis, another substitution has been made in the player core. Vic Chambaere continues to experience problems with his back and continues his rehabilitation in Genk. He has been replaced by 17-year-old Zenzo De Boeck.

KRC is staying in hotel The Fallon, a building that used to serve as… prison. Wouter Vrancken can begin to empathize with his role as a warden.
