270 young people conquered the city’s sports facilities at the beginning of the summer. The following should apply for the entire summer holidays: “Sports field instead of school desk!”

A sports day for children and young people took place on the initiative of the middle school in Krems.

Clubs accepted the invitation.

More than ten sports clubs from the region accepted the invitation from school sports coordinator Nico Redl and invited people to try it out and get involved. The students made use of the offer under the motto “Sports field instead of a school desk!” enthusiastic use.

Ball sports were popular

270 participants made the campaign a resounding success. All ball sports (from baseball and football to basketball, handball, volleyball and soccer – also for girls!) had to be tried out. Hip-hop and cheerleading were particularly exciting for many. They were looked after by the clubs from Krems and the surrounding area. A healthy snack and drinks were available at the Parents’ Association buffet after the sport.

Goal: find your favorite sport!

The organizer of this eventful day in the truest sense of the word was Nico Redl, sports coordinator at the middle school. “We want to support our students to discover their favorite sport and to find a club where they can train,” says the teacher. Principal Sonja Lechner-Paschinger emphasizes: “School sport must be an integral part of school life. Unfortunately, he has come a long way in the past two years. That’s why it’s all the more important to bring young people closer to the range of sports available in the region.”
