Dani Alves is sincere: reason for coming to Pumas from Mexico | MX League

The Brazilian winger Daniel Alves stated this Saturday, in his presentation as a new Pumas reinforcement, that his decision to play in Mexicano is not crazy, as many believe.

“The fact of coming here for many can be crazy, but for me football means much more than just kicking the ball, running after it or studying tactics. Soccer for me is not only a sport, it has transformed my life and I want it to continue transforming the lives of many other young people and people, ”he explained.

Alves arrived in Mexico City on Friday and this Saturday he met his new teammates after passing physical tests and signing a contract.

The 39-year-old Brazilian player will reinforce an institution that has won the Mexican League seven times, and is one of the four that has the most fans in the North American country.

The three-time European Champions League champion with Barcelona said he was interested in signing for a club that gives young talent a chance.

“I am a person who, beyond football, the achievements I have in my career, likes to leave a legacy to younger people, who can fight for what they dream of. Here is living proof that everything in life is possible, I come from a small town, but rich in all aspects where people come out hungry for victory”, added the player born 39 years ago in Juazeiro.

Starter in the World Cups South Africa 2010 and Brazil 2014 Alves said that another thing that made him opt for the Pumas is that the club represents the Autonomous University of Mexico, the most important in the country.

“That is why I have accepted the challenge of coming here to Pumas, because the university is the union of society, where everyone can dream, no matter how much is in the account. The university is made so that people can achieve what they dream of, can interact with the different social positions that exist in the world today”, he specified.
