Camilo Vargas leads the Liga MX team that will face the MLS All Stars | MX League

Camilo Vargas never ceases to amaze. Thanks to his brilliant performances by the hand of the Atlasthe Colombian former Santa Fe, best Mexican soccer player in the 2021-2022 seasonleads the selection of the League Mx that will face on August 10 in Minnesota (USA) a team of stars from the Major League Soccer.

The Mexican league confirmed on Tuesday that the Mexican team, led by the Argentine Diego Coccacoach of the champion Atlas, will be made up of 12 Ballon d’Or winners, led by Vargas, plus 13 figures chosen by the coach.

A member of the national team, Vargas was the architect of the miracle of Mexican soccer in the 2021-2022 season, the two Atlas league titles, 70 years after the first championship won by the institution.

In goal, recognized as the best soccer goalkeeper in Mexico, the Bogota native will be accompanied by the Argentine Óscar Ustari, from Pachuca.

The Argentine Hugo Nervo, from Atlas, the best central defender in the league, will be accompanied in that position by three high-level defenders, the Brazilian Matheus Doria, from Santos Laguna, the Argentine Lisandro López, from Tijuana, and the Mexican Jesús Angulo, of the UANL Tigers.

Kevin Álvarez, Mexican from Pachuca, will lead the wings, a position in which Mexico will also play with Colombian Brayan Angulo, from Toluca, and Mexicans Luis Reyes and Diego Barbosa, from Atlas.

Aldo Rocha, an Atlas figure who won the Golden Ball as best defensive midfielder, will be seconded in that position by three other Mexicans: Erick Lira, from Cruz Azul, Luis Chávez, from Pachuca, and Fernando Beltrán, from Guadalajara.

The Spaniard Álvaro Fidalgo, from América, will be among the attacking midfielders along with the Colombian Julián Quiñones (Atlas), his compatriot Avilés Hurtado (Pachuca), the Ecuadorian Ángel Mena (León) and the Mexican Alexis Vega, from Chivas de Guadalajara.

The attack with which Mexico will try to harm the MLS ideal team will be made up of Argentines Julio Furch (Atlas), Juan Ignacio Dinenno (Pumas UNAM) and Germán Berterame, from Rayados de Monterrey, in addition to Mexican Uriel Antuna, from Cruz Blue. The Mexican squad will be completed by midfielder Jordan Carrillo, from Santos Laguna, and winger Heriberto Jurado, from Necaxa, awarded by the Mx League as the two most promising youngsters.

Mexico will assume the duel as an opportunity to get even, after having lost last year in a series of penalties.
