Borja’s return alters the Bolo system

There were eleven days of training in which the same question was always heard in El Requexón: “What about Borja, what?”. The soap opera had been solved for days, but yesterday, finally, the necessary calm was set: official announcement and presence of “10” in El Requexón.

The Oviedo youth squad underwent a medical examination and appeared at the sports city first thing in the morning. He is already one more in Bolo’s squad and could also imply the decisive bet for a game drawing: 4-3-3.

Before going to work, his was the most sought after face. “You took too long, but here you are,” a club employee told him minutes before training began. “I really want to start, this is my home and I’m very happy to continue at Oviedo,” said the blue youth squad.

Borja, dressed in his training kit, spoke with the Vetusta players and also chatted with Antonio Rivas, director of the academy, and with Pedro Luis González, his right-hand man. Then, photography goes and photography comes, he went as one more to camp number 4, training place, exchanging confidences with Hugo Rama and Viti. Already in training, before a dozen fans present in the sports city, Bolo addressed the man of the day in a humorous tone. “This one had two more weeks of vacation,” said the blue coach, causing laughter among the squad, who supported the player.

Then the teammates made a corridor for the man from Oviedo, who began the first part of the session at the same pace as the other players. Then Borja had a talk at the foot of the field with Bolo and Pablo Lago, assistant coach, who had him at Astur, to immediately continue with the stretching with the rest of the squad.

At the end of these exercises, Borja began to work on the sidelines, doing continuous running and retiring to the gym.

Oviedo de Bolo kicks off this afternoon (7:00 pm) against Racing de Ferrol and Borja, due to inactivity, will not be able to play, but his presence expands Oviedo’s tactical possibilities. The man from Oviedo was already yesterday talking with the coach about his possible fit.

Bolo intends to place him inside and the fact that Borja is already in the squad could tip the balance to a 4-3-3 system, the one that Ziganda wanted last year. The former blue technician never dared to put Borja inside, something that could change now for Bolo.

For now, this system has already been used in the training matches against Vetusta. Borja is missing many training sessions, but the plan is clear: get him away from the band.
