Rowing: good harvest of masters from the Neuchâtel Nautical Society at the Swiss championships

Rowers from the Société Nautique de Neuchâtel (SNN) who took part in the Swiss Rowing Championships reaped a fine harvest of medals, particularly in the Masters category. Seven SNN boats secured podium places, including four top-step finishes, once second-place and twice third-place. The Neuchâtel club is currently in 17th place nationally.

Rodolphe Salomon won in the men’s singles, as did the mixed doubles which also won a bronze medal, the men’s doubles which also won a silver medal and the mixed fours. The four man finished third. Four rowers from the SNN were also involved in the bronze medal-winning eight Romand. /COMM JCE

Judo: mixed results for JC Cortaillod-NE

The two teams of JC Cortaillod-NE (JCC-NE) engaged during the day of the Swiss team championship in Corcelles have not secured their place for the national final which will take place in Neuchâtel on October 29. On the women’s side, the Neuchâtel team won two times (8-2 against Oensingen and Saint-Gall) and two losses (4-6 against Uster and 2-8 against Taïga Lausanne). At the end of this day, the JCC-NE judokas are still in third place (244 points) with a good lead over the fourth and fifth ranked teams. They should manage to qualify among the first four.

On the men’s side, the day ended in two defeats against Uster (6-8 each time). The two defensive points collected could prove valuable in view of qualifying for the final. The JCC-NE is second with 7 points in 6 matches, behind Uster (10 bridges in 6 matches). But nothing is guaranteed for the final. /COMM JCE


Running: very good second place for Julia Fatton at Montagn’hard

Julia Fatton took a very good second place in the women’s category (31st all categories, men and women) in the demanding Ultra trail de la Montagn’hard (110 km, + 8200 m) in Saint-Nicolas de Véroce, at the foot of Mont -White.

The German athlete based in Noiraigue had a good day in her race. She was in 10th place for women before making a good comeback. She finished this event in 22:32:20. She took part in this ultra-trail in order to prepare for the Crossing Switzerland ultra-endurance event, mainly taking the Via Alpina, which will include 390 km non-stop with 24,000 m of elevation gain between Vaduz and Montreux. and which will begin on July 23. /COMM JCE
