The sixth is still not the right one. After their failures in 2014 and 2016 to 2019, BC Chambly again failed in the final of the European Club Cup, beaten (3-1) by UKS Hubal Bialystok, this Saturday July 2 in Poland.
In their room enveloped in great heat, the Poles imposed themselves by displaying great solidity, like their French player, Lucas Corvée (world number 94), also a player from Issy-les-Moulineaux in N1, winner of two matches.
Tied (1-1) after Sacha Levêque’s victory in men’s singles, the seven-time French team champion (Top 12) let go in the next two confrontations.
Handicapped by the absences of British mixed doubles Smith-Ellis (world No. 11) and Canadian Michelle Li (world No. 12), retained for tournaments in Asia, as well as Thomas Rouxel (world No. 43), injured in an ankle, the Camblysiens , although authors of a faultless until this final meeting, did not have all their weapons to defend their chances.
The European Club Cup remains the only trophy still missing from the BCC’s list.
