Bàsquet Girona already has the orchestra direction defined for the ACB

With the incorporation of Pol Figueras, Bàsquet Girona covers the basic position in the return of the entity to the ACB. The young base of La Selva del Camp will play the minutes with Josep Franch, who is assured of his continuity, and Quino Colom, who started the summer market in Girona from the AEK in Athens. In this way, Aíto Garcia Reneses sees how, little by little, the club puts at his disposal a competitive squad and strengthens a position that had been weakened after the retirement of the professional sport of captain Albert Sàbat.

The three players who will play in the minutes are very different profiles, which pleases the Madrid coach. Josep Franch, best known to the Girona fans, after adding his talent to promote the club, is a player who is in one of his best sporting moments, who scores, who is daring, but also experienced.

In the case of Quino Colom, Bàsquet Girona incorporates experience, both on and off the field. He’s not a player who scores Franch’s numbers, but he has a good ability to read games and to set the right pace of play. He himself, on his arrival, acknowledged that experience is a degree: “I think my experience can help a new group in a league like the ACB.”

Finally, the arrival of Pol Figueras is the arrival of youth, a sports project that also wants to focus on the future. At just 24, Figueras has played all six seasons of his sporting career in the LEB Gold with his debut included in the ACB. This is the base with the most projection, but it also showed good numbers last season: 10 points, 6 assists, 2.4 rebounds per game. With his arrival, the position is defined.
