Only a handful of players from the previous season are still under contract with Ratiopharm Ulm. What is the requirement profile of the club and what is the future of assistant coach Tyron McCoy.
The most important building block has been fixed for a few days. After the previous head coach Jaka Lakovic said goodbye to the Spanish top club Gran Canaria, the Bundesliga club Ratiopharm Ulm presented Anton Gavel as the new coach (we reported). And the 37-year-old is in the middle of planning the squad together with managing director Thomas Stoll and sports director Thorsten Leibenath. “It’s the hot phase. We’re currently working a lot with players who are interesting to us, we’re having a lot of conversations and watching videos,” says Gavel. However, putting together the team for the 2022/2023 season should not be easy. There are still many question marks, because only a handful of players are still contractually bound to Ulm.
