Basketball: Chihuahua, champion; Hidalgo, fourth place – El Sol de Tulancingo

With a demonstration of quality, Chihuahua won the title of the National Basketball Championship, in the Under 17 category, after beating Nuevo León in the final 95-54.

With an extremely brilliant offensive demonstration, the Adelitas gave an exhibition similar to that of the semifinals, against Hidalgo, and did not give the Neoleoneses a chance to get closer in the light.

Melanie Olace was the one who commanded the Chihuahuan advance, and contributed in most of the attacks of the champions. She was accompanied by Carol Silva and Valeria Salas.

The Adelitas based their game on a solid defense and fierce counterattacks, which caused the order that the Nuevo León quintet initially had to lose control.

As in the game against Hidalgo, Chihuahua had a favorite place in the third period to secure the game, because there he distanced himself from his rival. In the end, the difference did not give rise to debate and they took home the trophy.

On the other hand, the entity’s quintet played a few hours before the match for third place, against Sonora, in a very even match, but that favored the visit 59-54, in which the last seconds made the difference.

The state, which had a good role in the championship, did not let the Sonorans take off and little by little they approached another comeback.

Three minutes from the end, the difference was one point, but the inefficiency of the Hidalguenses took its toll, and was taken advantage of by Sinaloa, who did not miss in front of the hoop and kept the bronze medal.
