Badosa gets his second win at Wimbledon

Paula Badosa added hers yesterday second victory at Wimbledon with a forceful and solid performance against the Romanian Irina Bara, to which it put under by 6-3 and 6-2. Badosa, who arrived with hesitation at the London tournament, is finding his rhythm on the grass, with two more than convincing victories.

Despite its condition of fourth series leader, Badosa did not start as a favorite due to his poor preparation; he has only played one grass match since losing to Roland Garros, by the discomfort he suffered in the knee in Paris, and because he had never made it past the round of 16 in the British tournament. The Girona native needed confidence in the first rounds and got it. Two wins by the fast track, in the first three games were left and in the second, only five.

He was impeccable in service, rubbing 90% of points earned with the first serve, and only had to face a breaking ball. Bara, of course, is not a grass specialist and her victory in the first round was the first of her career in this field, at 27 years old. In an hour and a quarter, Badosa certified his passage to the third roundwhere you can find Czech Petra Kvitovatwo-time Wimbledon winner.

For his part, Rafael Nadal resolved his move to the third round of Wimbledon without playing a great game by beating the Lithuanian Rikardas Berankis by 6-4, 6-4, 4-6 and 6-3. For the 11th time, the Balearic tennis player will be in the third round of a tournament he has won in 2008 and 2010. This Thursday he also won the 307th Grand Slam.
