For the first time in ten years of existence, the adult section of the badminton club of Segre (Maine-et-Loire) will be framed. Already in charge of the section, the president of the club David Retailleauwill offer classes for adults during the saison 2022-2023.

“It will be more of an initiation,” explains the man from 53 ans. “The goal is for the uninitiated to progress on the movements and acquire a certain technique. This is mostly for the personal good of adults. »

Three degrees

For this, David began training in 2019 to become a sports coach. “It came from the club and we had to find someone who could do it. Having a job where I have availability, I got into it. »

I passed a first degree to Ponts-de-Cé (Maine-et-Loire) where you learn all the moves in badminton then those called volunteer animator (AB1) and young volunteer animator (AB2J) for supervision. »

“And then there is also a financial part to take into account. Having a coach for the youth section took a lot of money. By training, I was able to generate some income at the club because I make adult and youth sections. »

A leisure spirit

A choice made in leisure spirit of the club as well as that of training as a facilitator and not a coach.

“The objective is not the same for the two, in my opinion. A animator will manage to progress in a roundabout way, in a more playful way, in the form of games. »

“A training will focus exclusively on the competition with very technical exercises. So in relation to the club’s philosophy, a facilitator is what I wanted. »
