Yassin Ayoub returns to the Eredivisie. The former midfielder of FC Utrecht and Feyenoord has found a new employer in Excelsior. Several clubs wanted him, but in the end the choice was not difficult.
“I have also had discussions with other clubs, but I feel that Excelsior really did everything it could to bring me in. I am an emotional person and therefore base my decisions to a large extent on that. That Excelsior has put so much effort into me, that expressed a lot of confidence for me,” Ayoub says on the website of his new club.
The midfielder talked about the club with Marouan Azarkan, who he remembers from his time at Feyenoord. “He was very enthusiastic and immediately said: you really have to come! All in all, I am convinced that this is a good move for me,” said the footballer, who played almost two hundred games at the highest level. With that experience, he wants to become an important force in the team.
“It is the details that make the difference in the Eredivisie. I know what is asked at this level and hope to be able to convey this. I want to show who we are with Excelsior. We have to have confidence in ourselves,” said Ayoub.
