Argentines Ficovich and Villanueva advance in the Bogotá Tennis Challenger

The Argentines Juan Pablo Ficovich and Gonzalo Villanueva successfully debuted today and reached the second round of the Bogotá Tennis Challenger, in Colombia, a contest that is played on clay.

On the courts of the Carmel Club in the Colombian capital, with $53,120 in prize money, Ficovich from Buenos Aires (163 in the ATP world ranking) raffled the premiere and beat local Sergio Hernández Ramírez (1909), with partial 6-2, 4- 6 and 6-3.

Meanwhile, Matías Zukas from Santa Fe (455) passed the last round of qualifying and will run into the American Evan Zhu (387) at the start.

The same thing happened with Ignacio Monzón from Corrientes (567), who won his second qualifying match and will have a difficult debut in the main draw against Chilean Gonzalo Lama (263).

The debut of Buenos Aires Facundo Mena (160), finalist in the last edition, who will run into Serbian Pedja Krstin (408) is scheduled for tomorrow. The tennis player from the city of Buenos Aires has just won the Cali Challenger last weekend.
