Algerian judoka Dris Messaoud on training camp in Hungary

Algerian international judoka Dris Messaoud (-73 kg) has embarked for Hungary, where he must complete a long-term preparation course for the next Summer Olympics, scheduled for 2024 in Paris.

This internship has been made possible thanks to a special scholarship, granted jointly by the Algerian Olympic and Sports Committee (COA) and the Algerian Judo Federation (FAJ). The President of the Federation, Yacine Silliniwho accompanied the athlete to Hungary said: “Dris Messaoud represents the rising star of Algerian judo. He has proven it many times, and he confirmed it recently, by winning the gold medal at the Mediterranean Games in Oran. He is a serious athlete, who constantly seeks to improve his level, and so we have decided to help him in this perspective, by sending him to prepare for a long period abroad. »

The same manager adds that “In addition to Dris Messaoud, we plan to send five or six other judokas abroad, to gain experience, and thus increase our chances of performance during the next major sporting events, including the Paris-2024 Olympics”. Finally, the first responsible for the FAJinsisted on having “already obtained the agreement in principle of the International Federation” from this perspective.
