Alba Berlin signs talent Gabriele Procida

Berlin (dpa/bb). Basketball champion Alba Berlin has signed the 20-year-old Italian Gabriele Procida. The Bundesliga club announced on Friday that the shooting guard had signed a three-year contract. “Gabriele is ready to perform at the highest level and we want to help him take his game to the next level,” Alba sporting director Himar Ojeda said.

Procida was selected 36th in the NBA draft two weeks ago. His rights for the North American professional league are with the Detroit Pistons. If the Pistons want to bring Procida into the NBA, they will have to enter into negotiations with Alba, according to the club. The 1.98 meter tall Procida made his debut in the Italian Serie A in 2019. Most recently he played there for Fortitudo Bologna.
