Alba Berlin brings third player with Bundesliga experience

Alba Berlin has further strengthened its women’s team for the first season in the Bundesliga. The 29-year-old Tessa Stammberger moves from TK Hannover Luchse to the capital. Alba announced this on Wednesday. The 1.80 meter tall build-up and wing player gained a lot of experience in the top German basketball division in Hanover. After Nina Rosemeyer and Deeshyra Thomas, she is the third addition to head coach Cristo Cabreram’s newly promoted team, who has already played in the Bundesliga.

She can play in different positions and defend a wide variety of players. This opens up very good options for our team, said Alba’s sporting director Himar Ojeda. I’m ready to go, said Stammberger, who comes from a basketball family. Her mother Anna once played for Canada at the Olympic Games and World Championships before, according to Alba, she switched to Wolfenbüttel as a professional player in the 1980s, where her father Hartwig Stammberger played. Tessa Stammberger has both German and Canadian citizenship.
