Alba and Bayern with solvable tasks for the start of the EuroLeague

The basketball Bundesliga clubs Alba Berlin and Bayern Munich have caught feasible tasks at the start of the EuroLeague.

The champions from the capital will open their European Cup season on October 7 in front of their home crowd against newcomer Partizan Belgrade, the Bavarians will start the day before at home against last year’s twelfth-placed Fenerbahce Istanbul.

The German duels will take place on November 10, 2022 and March 17, 2023, in the first duel Alba has home rights. A total of 18 teams take part in the competition, in the regular season there are a total of 34 rounds of matches. The top eight teams qualify for the playoffs before the winner is decided at the Final Four.

For the Russian teams CSKA Moscow, UNICS Kazan and Zenit St. Petersburg, which were excluded because of the war of aggression in Ukraine, Partizan, the Italian EuroCup winner Virtus Bologna and the former Spanish champions Valencia Basket are moving into the competition.

While Alba had missed the play-offs in the previous season, the Munich team failed unhappily at FC Barcelona in the quarter-finals. The defending champion is Anadolu Istanbul.
