A premiere for almost everyone: The special school at the Tetraeder completes belt tests after the end of the judo weeks

For the students of the School for Spiritual Development at the Tetrahedron, the trip to the judodojo in the Dieter Renz sports hall was something very special and exciting. After all, they have never stood on the tatami of the first division club and almost all of them have never had a judo belt test.

A student from the upper school was able to help his classmates, because he has been wearing the white and yellow belt for a number of years, was able to take away everyone’s fears and help demonstrate the required techniques.

Successful conclusion of the judo weeks

It was remarkable for examiner Jan Tefett that the test was not a modified, but a regular belt test and that all participants had practiced so diligently that the techniques could be carried out almost perfectly and in any case without danger. Thus the conclusion of the judo project weeks was a successful one in every area. This joy was evident in the parents, teachers and new belt holders who were present. Many photos were taken with smiling faces to commemorate the eventful judo time.

“Many got to know each other and their abilities anew and were surprised at their potential.”

The teaching units of Bastian Hirschfelder and Sven Helbing were always eventful and valuable: “It has been shown that this project gave all the students something positive to take away. The physical trial of strength under our guidance and in compliance with the judo rules was a special experience, especially for the older age groups,” says Hirschfelder, who also works as a teacher at the Tetraeder school. And further: “Many got to know each other and their abilities in a new way and were partly surprised by their potential. Furthermore, for many teachers it was the first time that they were able to observe their students in such an extraordinary situation.”

Finally, after the test, trainer Sven Helbing paid tribute to the participants for their efforts: “I’m very proud of everyone. The development that you have taken and the commitment were also a nice thank you for our work. What more do you want!”

The first middle school at the Tetraeder Bottrop school is happy about the successful belt test.
