In this summer heat, a new project for Florentine basketball is boiling in the pot, a top one that aims at a sporting title to bring Florence back to the top and that dusts off the name Basketball Florence.
In fact, a new club has been set up in recent days and appears to be in talks to take over the sporting title of Pino Dragons in Serie B and take advantage of the next championship reform to climb the rankings to come.
But who is behind this new project that is starting? The Nation reports today those of coaches Luigi Gresta (wiki) who would assume the technical leadership of the team e Simone Lusini (pictured) for the role of sporting director. The second was recently approached at Fortitutdo Bolognaand in the past he was a collaborator of Ferdinando Minucci at Mens Sana Siena and the Interpeformance proxy agency.
And Florence in all this? Il Pino would give way but would make available the youth sector and PalaCoverciano, which together with San Marcellino would be the reference fields for the start of this new bet called Basketball Florence.
There are still many details missing: budget, intentions and names but we are confident that in the next few days this heat will clear the fog around yet another lily restart.
