7-0: Les Bleues pulverize Vietnam to complete their preparation before Euro 2022

A card to fill up with confidence. For its second and last preparation match for Euro 2022, the French women’s team blew up Vietnam at the Source stadium in Orléans this Friday evening (7-0). Facing the 32nd nation in the FIFA rankings, Corinne Deacon’s players recited their football, without ever being put in difficulty. They chained a 14th success in a row. Ideal before taking on Italy on Sunday July 10 for their entry into the continental competition.

Despite the absences of Renard, Geyoro and Karchaoui still a little diminished, the Blues made their task easier by managing an almost perfect start to the match. With three goals in a quarter of an hour, as a response to the coach who had been upset, a week ago, by the sluggish start against Cameroon (4-0). The rest was only a formality with a one-sided match where the French monopolized the ball and multiplied the offensives, very often passing on the sides.

A prolific attacking trio

The first period was more successful. And the second more in management, given the large score at the break (6-0) and the many changes made after the break. Special mention to the starting line of attack which took advantage of the weak adversity to fine-tune the last adjustments and put themselves in the best possible conditions before the European deadline. Even if there was a bit of waste, Cascarino (5th), Katoto (22nd) and Diani (11th and 45th+1) all three scored.

Toletti (16th), Matéo (33rd) and Tounkara (68th) also contributed to this river score. Logical given the great difference in level between the two formations. This is also why we will not be able to draw any real lessons from this match. Even less on the defensive level since the Vietnamese could hardly attack. Whatever, we will especially remember the goals, the beautiful collective movements and the smiles displayed. Everything we hope to find among the French during this month of July in England.
