66 medals for Spain at the 2022 Mediterranean Games

The Spanish team obtained a total of 66 medals in the Mediterranean Games of 2022 disputed in Oran (Algeria), 16 gold, 25 silver and 25 bronze.

At the 2018 Mediterranean Games, held in Tarragona, the Spanish team achieved 122 medalsdivided into 38 gold, 40 silver and 44 bronze, 56 more than in Oran.

In the general medal table of the 2022 Mediterranean Games, the Spanish team obtained the Fifth placewhile at the 2018 Mediterranean Games it ranked second.

Las gold medals won them in swimming (1), handball (2), archery (1), judo (3), tennis (2), weightlifting (1), badminton (1), taekwondo (2), athletics (1), table tennis (1) and basketball (1).

Highlights the gold medal in handball of Las Guerreras, the women’s handball team, which won the final against Croatia 29-25. The three also stand out in judo, a sport in which Francisco Garrigós, Ai Tsunoda and Nikoloz Sherazadishvili managed to rise to the top of the podium.

Among the silver and bronze ones, the silver one stands out in taekwondo by Adriana Cerezorunner-up at the 2022 Tokyo Olympics, who was firmly opposed to gold, but lost the final against Turkey’s Dinçel 7-1.

Special mention to handball, badminton and taekwondo, in which all the Spanish participants won at least one silver medal. In the case of handball, both teams, both male and female, won gold.

In addition to the medals obtained, the Spanish team achieved a total of 100 diplomas at the 2022 Mediterranean Games.
