XV of France: quarantine lifted in Japan for the Blues

End the isolation. The quarantine imposed on the XV of France “for three days” on its arrival in Japan has been “lifted”, the French Rugby Federation announced on Sunday, after a final series of PCR tests all proving negative.

“In accordance with the protocol of the Japanese Federation, all the players and management of the XV of France present in Japan carried out a series of RT-PCR tests today. All the results are negative,” the FFR said in a statement. Until then, the Blues of Fabien Galthié could only circulate “between the hotel and the training ground”.

Aymeric Luc and Max Spring are no longer positive

A few days before leaving for the Japanese tour, two players (Aymeric Luc and Max Spring) and two members of the management (Shaun Edwards and Laurent Labit) had tested positive for Covid-19 and placed in solitary confinement.

Luc (24 years old, 0 selection) and Spring (21 years old, 0 selection) tested negative on Saturday and will join the rest of the group. This is not the case for Labit and Edwards, still in solitary confinement in France and involved in the preparation of the Blues from a distance while waiting to benefit from a negative test result. The Blues are due to face the “Cherry Blossoms” of Japan, in Toyota on July 2, then in Tokyo on July 9.
