Women’s Mind: Daniela and Marisol, two Mexicans succeeding in the Denver Broncos

Los Denver Broncos they have female Mexican blood. The NFL team has two women in its organization from our country, whose stories are an example of tenacity within a sports environment in the United States, which until a few years ago had its macho outbreaks. Today, both are clear about where they are going and what their dreams are.

The first one is Danielawho was born in the city of Chihuahua and has four years living in Denver, city where she moved to audition as a cheerleader for the team. Something that she achieved until 2021, due to the pause due to COVID-19.

Currently she says she feels happy, because all the effort she made to be a cheerleader has been worth it, “I am proud to represent my country, to be able to transmit my culture to the people and be part of both worlds. The distance from family and friends is complicated, but the joy that being here gives me compensates for everything, ”she told El Heraldo de México.

Being a cheerleader in a professional league in the United States, coming from south of the border, would have been almost impossible in the old days. But Daniela She assures that she has received good treatment from the Broncos, “the competition to enter here is very tough and the quality of the teammates is very high. That’s why I value what they’ve given me.”

For Marisol Villagomezwho Senior Marketing Manager de Denver desde 2014, the story was different. Her dream, when she emigrated with her family from Guanajuato, when she was just a girl, was to work in the sports world of the northern country. Although she never imagined what that path would be like, since at one point she felt excluded for being a woman.

“When I started, I had to receive comments of all kinds that today would not be allowed in any way. But I think there has been a change and I am a witness that the NFL is working so that there is education and not inequality, ”he said in an interview with the The Herald of Mexico.

“In the end, everything is a matter of learning and I achieved my dream when I got here. I consider myself lucky,” she added.

So much Daniela like Marisol they know that there will be more difficult days, but they hope to be an example of more Mexican women who aspire to be part of the sports industry.
