Wimbledon qualifiers, half-empty glass for Italtennis on the first day

Today the first tranche of matches valid for the men’s qualifiers was staged a Wimbledon 2022. The balance is not very positive for theItaltennis: of the sixteen Italian players who took to the field during the day, only six gained access to the second round of the cadet draw.

The blue day of qualifying for the prestigious London tournament opened around 12 with two matches: Lorenzo Justin was clearly beaten by the Kazakh Mikhail Kukushkin (6-2 6-1), while Salvatore Caruso he imposed a comeback on the Slovak Filip Horansky (3-6 6-1 6-4).

In the early afternoon, however, the Italian movement has accumulated only disappointments: Franco Agamenone he gave way to the German Cedrik-Marcel Stebe (7-6 6-4); Matteo Arnaud he was defeated by the Portuguese Nuno Borges (6-3 6-7 6-2); Flavio Cobolli he became the protagonist of a sensational thud in the presence of the modest Argentine Nicolas Kicker (6-2 6-1); equally disappointing was the resounding knockout received by Alessandro Giannessi at the hands of Hugo Grenier (6-1 6-1).
