Wimbledon > Alcaraz: “Some say I’m a favorite but honestly I don’t think so because players like Berrettini, Djokovic or Nadal are much better than me on grass”

Carlos Alcaraz, hit in the right elbow, could not play Queen’s before Wimbledon, where he had been eliminated in the 2e tour by Daniil Medvedev in 2021 for his only participation in the tournament. As he explained in comments reported by Ubitennis, the young Spaniard is making his mark on the grass. Contrary to Roland-Garros where he already assumed his ambitions, the 7e world is cautious before the London Grand Slam.

« It is essential to learn how to move on this surface and we work a lot on this point, on improving our movement. We’re also tweaking other details, like the volley. Some say I’m the favourite, but honestly I don’t think so because players like Berrettini, Djokovic or Nadal are much better than me on grass. What I will try to do is take advantage of this surface as much as possible, not only now, but also in the future.”said Alcaraz who should closely follow the draw this Friday at 11am.
