Venezuela falls to Mexico in the U23 World Cup

In the semifinals of the U23 World Cup, organized by the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC), Venezuela fell 5-0 to Mexico, in a match that seemed to be very close.

In the first inning, the Americans placed the first run of the match with a fly ball to center field by Víctor Ramírez, so that Elmer López reached the last pentagon (Home Plate).

Team Venezuela Baseball would make many mistakes, so the Mexicans with the bases loaded in the fourth inning widened the lead. After an error to capture the ball and a touch of sacrifice they coca 2-0.

Germán Revilla scored on a wild pitch and after a passed ball from the Venezuelan catcher in a strikeout, two runs entered for the 4-0 partial.

The final 5-0 would be the work of Revilla, who after an unstoppable entered the last race of the match.

The criollos had five hits throughout the game against a Mexican team that is unbeaten in the tournament so far.

This Sunday, Venezuela will face Nicaragua for the bronze medal, these two teams, along with Mexico and Cuba, are the ones classified for the World Cup to be held in October in Chinese Taipei.
