Barcelona

PSV Eindhoven coach, Ruud van Nistelrooywant to return Luke de Jong to the Netherlands. De Jong previously played five years for PSV.

Luuk de Jong last season played for Barcelona on loan from Sevilla. This Dutch striker is not the main choice in the attack line of El Barca.

He only played in 29 Barcelona matches last season with a contribution of seven goals. Even so, De Jong often becomes a supersub to break the deadlock for Barcelona.

Barcelona have the option to make De Jong permanent, whose loan contract expires at the end of this month. The Blaugrana are unlikely to activate the option to buy De Jong.

De Jong will return to Sevilla. He is still under contract with the Andalusian club until 2023.

PSV Eindhoven tried to take advantage of Barcelona’s decision not to make De Jong permanent. PSV coach, Ruud van Nistelrooy, wants to bring De Jong back to the Netherlands.

De Jong previously played for PSV in the 2014-2019 range. He was able to pack 112 goals from 204 appearances with the Dutch giants.

PSV will look to land De Jong this summer. If that fails, they will look for the option of signing the 31-year-old striker next season for free when his contract expires.

“We are doing everything to bring Luuk de Jong home. He is an extraordinary striker for us. His return to PSV is not realistic at the moment, but it is possible,” De Jong was quoted as saying. Sports world.

“I have a lot of faith, but that doesn’t mean it will happen. We will do everything possible and more to make this opportunity a reality,” he explained.
