Valledupar 2022: Elvismar Rodriguez and Yohandri Granado are the flag bearers of the Bolivarian Games

CARACAS – There are just a few days left for the lighting of the Juegos Bolivarianos Valledupar 2022 torch. Today the Comité Olímpico Venezolano announced its standard-bearers: Elvismar Rodríguez (judo) and Yohandri Granado (taekwondo).

Rodríguez is preparing to win one of the tickets for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The judoka in this 2022 has risen to the top step of the podium in the ‘Campeonato Panamericano-Oceanía’, which took place in April in Peru. In addition, Elvismar Rodríguez’s sports palmares include a gold medal in the Pan American Games Lima 2019 and appearances in the Rio de Janeiro 2016 and Tokyo 2022 Olympic Games.

For his part, Yohandri Granado shows up with the business card of gold in the 58 kilogram category, won in the Taekwondo Abbierto which was held in the Dominican Republic.

11 countries will participate in the Juegos Bolivarianos of Valledupar (the 7 members of the Organización Deportiva Bolivariana and 4 guests). The members of the Odebo are Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Peru and Venezuela; while the guests are Guatemala, El Salvador, Paraguay and the Dominican Republic.

The “Little Venice” will participate with 584 sportsmen in 33 disciplines where judo, basketball, volleyball, rowing, fencing, taekwondo and others stand out.
