U23 Asian Cup Results: Saudi Arabia to Final, Vietnam and Australia Become Victims

KOMPAS.com – Saudi Arabia’s U23 national team managed to advance to the 2022 U23 Asian Cup final. Next, they will play host Uzbekistan in the top party.

On its way to the 2022 U23 Asian Cup final, Saudi Arabia has taken a lot of casualties. Some of them are Vietnam and Australia.

The Vietnam U23 national team was a team that Saudi Arabia was able to beat in the quarter-finals of the 2022 U23 Asian Cup, 12 June.

When competing in the quarter-finals, Vietnam was unable to do much in front of Saudi Arabia. They also had to swallow a defeat with a score of 0-2.

Vietnam tumbang akibat gol Moteb Saad Salem Al Harbi (41′) dan Firas Tariq Nasser Al Brikan (65′).

The result made Vietnam the first victim to lose to Saudi Arabia in the knockout phase of the 2022 U23 Asian Cup.

Furthermore, it was Australia’s turn to become a victim of Saudi Arabia’s resilience.

Australia advanced to the semifinals of the 2022 U23 Asian Cup after a 1-0 win over Turkmenistan in the quarter-finals, 11 June.

When they reached the semifinals, Australia pocketed valuable capital, namely unbeaten since the group stage.

However, the slick capital is not enough to lead Australia to undermine the toughness of Saudi Arabia.

They lost 0-2 against Saudi Arabia in the semifinals which took place at the Pakhtakor Stadium, Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on Wednesday (15/6/2022).

Hussain Ahmed Al Eisa (20′) and Ayman Yahya Salem Ahmed (72′) scored the goals that submerged Australia.

This result dashed Australia’s hopes of advancing to the 2022 U23 Asian Cup final. Furthermore, they will fight for third place against Japan who also failed to reach the final after losing 0-2 to host Uzbekistan.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has the right to advance to the final and will challenge Uzbekistan in the fight for the 2022 U23 Asian Cup title.

The 2022 U23 Asian Cup final between Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan is scheduled to take place at the Bunyodkor Stadium, Tashkent, on Sunday (19/6/2022) evening WIB.

Saudi Arabia has a slick capital ahead of the final match. They are yet to concede and have scored 11 goals since the group stage.
