Toronto’s Maple Leafs leader Matthew is named the NHL’s most valuable player

In the battle for the league’s MVP, who will be awarded a trophy named after Cecil Hart, Matthew defeated two-time winner Conor McDeight from the Emonton Oilers and Igor Shestyorkin from the New York Rangers.

Matthew also won a prize named after Thed Lindsay for an impressive and memorable performance during the season. The winner of this award is determined by the NHLPA.

Meanwhile, Shestyorkin was named the best goalkeeper of the regular championship, who will be awarded the Vezina trophy, who overtook Jacob Markström from the Calgary “Flames” unit and Jes Saros from Nashville from the “Predators”.

Keil Macar of the Avalanche in Colorado won the trophy as Best Defender, with Victor Hedman of Lightning and Romans Jozi of Nashville as Predator.

Moritz Zaiders of the Detroit Red Wings was named the best new player in the NHL season to receive the Caldera Trophy. His rivals for the title of best debutant were Michael Banting of Toronto’s Maple Leafs and Trevors Ziegras of Anaheim’s Ducks.
