Of the Tennis world number one Daniil Medvedev has the Missed the title in Halle/Westphalia. The Russian lost Hubert Hurkacz from Poland without a chance 1:6, 4:6. Medvedev had already clearly lost in the final in the Dutch ‘s-Hertogenbosch last Sunday.
For Hurkacz it was the fifth title of his career and the first on grass. The 25-year-old feels very comfortable there, last year he reached the semi-finals in Wimbledon. In Halle he beat the strong Australian Nick Kyrgios in three sets in the semifinals and outclassed Medvedev in 63 minutes.
In Wimbledon (from June 27th) should to reckon with Hurkacz again be while Medvedev has to take a break. Like all other Russian and Belarusian players, the 26-year-old has been banned from the All England Club over the war of aggression against Ukraine.
