The Community of Madrid will host the match of the Spanish selection men’s absolute basketball game against Greece, which will be played on August 11 at the Wizink Center.
This is a friendly match preparation for the Eurobasketofficial international competition, to be held jointly between Germany, the Czech Republic, Georgia and Italy between September 1 and 18.
“A new opportunity to position Madrid in the spotlight of top sports competition”
The Minister of Culture, Tourism and Sports of the Regional Executive, Marta Rivera de la Cruzhas highlighted that it is “a new opportunity to position Madrid in the focus of high international sports competition” and show that they are “fully prepared and equipped to hold this type of event of great public interest, which also attracts tourists”.
The Spanish Basketball Federation will be in charge and responsible for the organization, production and security of everything related to the meeting. The Autonomous Administration, for its part, will make the use of the WiZink Center of the Community of Madrid available to the Federation.
Within the framework of this collaboration, also from the regional government, educational centers will be informed of the celebration of this friendly meeting to encourage interest and attendance among the most sport-loving students. Likewise, local councils and regional basketball clubs will be informed through the Madrid Basketball Federation.
