The city of Esquel will host this weekend the second date of the Provincial Table Tennis Tournament where the participation of about 70 players from different parts of the region is estimated.
This date is organized by the municipal Table Tennis School led by Jonathan Ascencio and has the support of the Municipality of Esquel.
In addition to this date of the Provincial Tournament, which will take place between this Saturday and Sunday, Father’s Day, an open Table Tennis tournament will be held.
According to the information provided by the press area of the Municipality of Esquel, matches will be held corresponding to the Youth, Third, Second, First, Maxi 50, Maxi 60, Doubles Minors and Doubles Majors categories.
Both days will begin at 10 am and will last throughout the day.
Delegations from Comodoro Rivadavia, Trelew, Puerto Madryn, Sarmiento, El Hoyo, Aldea Epulef, Caleta Olivia and La Plata (Buenos Aires) have already confirmed their presence at this provincial tournament and the open championship.
The referent of the Municipal School of Table Tennis, Jonathan Acencio commented “we will be playing the 2nd date of the Provincial Tournament, the 1st was held in Trelew and the Open Tournament will also be played, which will be held again in Esquel”.
“The last time it was held was in 2017, we have great expectations because the Municipal School has grown, we have more tables to play and the sport has also been installed in other places such as Club Del Campo”.
“With the completion of the provincial we will be able to raise the level and spread the local table tennis, some players already have experience and for others it will be the first time to play an important tournament, we have some very intense months of competition” added Acencio.
The Provincial Table Tennis Tournament consists of four dates, the first was played in Trelew, the second will be played this weekend in Esquel, the third will take place in Comodoro Rivadavia and the fourth will take place in Puerto Madryn.
