Four major highlights were recorded. Although the club is based in Mérignac, it makes “sport for all” its credo. Hence the idea of organizing a 100% playful sports practice time under the banner of the SAM Games. The concept: a road book, registration on D-Day alone, with family or friends, and sports initiation workshops to be ticked off without the spirit of competition. Logically, everyone will be entitled to their medal on arrival.

On the menu: archery, basketball, English boxing, karate, fencing, athletics, football, speedminton. But also a disabled biathlon with a wheelchair course and laser rifle shooting and an interactive event with the Lü wall. “Finally, participants will be subjected to a quiz of two questions. The answers will be found in the exhibition “The History of Sport in Mérignac” and the documentary “SAM, 50 years of sport” broadcast on a loop at the Roger-Couderc foyer”, adds Julien Fel, SAM communication manager.

Recycling

A health and well-being center will be deployed with therapists (osteopaths, physiotherapists) and the possibility of doing fitness level assessment tests. On the sidelines of the SAM Games, diving and canoeing courses will be given in the large basin of the Jean-Badet nautical stadium. A baby gym stand and games (makeup, balloon sculptures and bouncy castle) will be aimed at the youngest. A daycare service will allow families with children of different ages to organize their day. Finally, for those who wish to get rid of clothes that are still correct, the sports recycling center will provide a recycling bin for shoes and sports textiles on D-Day. This part will take place from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. approximately.

Shield to the Victors

Reserved for club members, the second highlight, called the Samist Challenge, will combine a kind of relay race strewn with obstacles and a tug-of-war competition on the athletics track. A dozen teams of 8 people are registered for the moment. A shield, lighter than the Brennus, will be given to the winners of this challenge of cohesion through sport and laughter. Note the presence at the microphone of David Fontanier, speaker of the Boxers de Bordeaux (ice hockey).
