Like every year as the NBA free agency approaches, the Toronto Raptors are offering a qualifying offer to Nando De Colo. This year is no exception to the rule and the French will be restricted free agent since they offered him a qualifying offer of 2 million dollars.
Since leaving the NBA at the end of the 2013-14 season, during which he was traded from the Spurs to the Raptors, the Canadians have secured their rights. It does not cost them much and if one day Nando, who is out of contract, decides to return to the NBA, which is increasingly unlikely, they will have priority. If he signs with a team, the Raptors can line up and keep him.
Note that the Raptors also offered a two-way qualifying offer to Justin Champagne et David Johnsonwho will be restricted free agents.
The Toronto Raptors have tendered Two-Way qualifying offers for Justin Champagnie and David Johnson.
Toronto has also tendered a $2M qualifying offer for Nando De Colo.
All three players are now restricted free agents.
